Holiday Card Workshop 2013, Day 1

Started my online card class yesterday, and it is great!  I've taken other classes from them, and they all teach me so much, this one is no exception.

They featured several cards to give us ideas for our own, and I decided to use the Z-Fold idea they presented.  I couldn't find a sentiment to go across for a banner, but I used a border on the bottom to pull the whole thing together.  I'll probably be making another with the banner idea if I ever find my missing set of stamps! lol  I guess that means it's time to de-clutter my craft room.

Here are a couple of photos of the card I made.

Colored the snowman with Copic markers.

It doesn't show up well in the photos, but there is some glitter and sparkle on the background paper.  Where the lines intersect, and the snow flakes in the border.

Another Fall Note Card

Still playing with my new stamp.  I used my Kaleidacolor Stamp Pads in Tomato Vine, using a brayer on the ink pad and transferring the ink to my stamp.  I blended the edges with my Distress Inks in Dried Marigold and Vintage Photo.

I added some red rhinestones for a little bling, and matted the stamp with a yellow paper.
I like how this turned out!  Sorry about the glare in the photo, had to use my flash.

Fall Note Card

Finally getting a chance to play with my new background stamps.  This one is from Stampendous, I believe it is called Autumn Words.  I love the words on it!

I used Distress inks in Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo for shading and stamping, a burgundy ribbon to accent the stamping, and a brown card stock card base, with an off white card stock for the liner and the stamping.  I left the inside unstamped, thinking it could be used for a Fall Birthday, Thanksgiving, or even thinking of you occasion.

Another Scrap Card

Had a lot of smallish scraps of designer paper, and hated to waste them.

I think this card uses them pretty nicely!

Birthday Card!

Made this for my oldest son, Jason.  He doesn't get a chance to golf very often, but he does enjoy it!

This was my first attempt at paper piecing, and I think the sweater came out pretty well!  I used my Copic markers to color the rest of the golfer.

Love this stamp!

When things go wrong, you just have to put on your big girl panties and move on.
This card expresses that sentiment in a slightly different way!

Using up some scraps

Had some scraps left over from some previous cards I'd made, and thought this would be a nice little card!

Trying out some new stamps

Bought some new stamps, and just had to use them right away!  So I made this card.

I think the paper I used really adds to the whole theme!

Another Tilda card

Now Tilda is playing basketball!  Also colored with my Copic markers.  And yes, my daughter also played Varsity Basketball in High School.  She was a sports nut. lol

I think I'm getting a little better coloring with the Copic markers, although there is room for improvement!

Playing with my Copics and Tilda stamps

I've had this Tilda stamp for a while, and decided to make a birthday card with it.

I made this with my daughter in mind--she played  in a local league from the time she was 6 years old, and then Varsity Softball when she was in High School.  Now she's all grown up, married and working, with no time for all of the sports she used to play!

Pi Day card--just because.

Thought I'd make up a card for Pi Day, for the computer nerds in my life.

A close-up of the front of the card.

The front and the inside of the card.

Clean and Simple 2 Online Card Class Day 5

Tried embossing in white, and then using my distress inks to blend together for the background.  Not too bad for a first attempt.  Next time I will only do a little of the green, towards the bottom.

The sentiment is also embossed, on the same apple green card stock as the base card.It is popped up.

I'm also thinking of just embossing the stamp design directly on the card base, and just coloring in the chair and umbrella.  Maybe tomorrow.
