Clean and Simple 2 Online Card Class Day 4

I wanted to try the chalkboard thing, but wanted to make the background a dark color instead of black.  I like the looks of the white embossing on the dark purple card front.  Sorry the photo isn't any better, but I wanted to get it posted right away.

I was going to do a little dry embossing on the front, but can't seem to find anything that really calls out to me.  If I do find anything later, I can always do the dry embossing then, and I feel it is better to do without, than to do something that I'm not happy with.

I really like this class, clean and simple is how I like my cards to look, and I've learned so much from the classes so far!

Clean and Simple 2 Online Card Class Day 3

Day 3 of the class introduced the concept of using labels on your cards.  I thought I'd give this a try, and came up with this.  I placed the stamped labels on a white layer, and separated them just a little to make them more interesting.  I also inked the edges of the white layer, trying to get a little extra ink here and there to add interest. The heart is inked in cranberry, with the hello stamped in the same cocoa brown as the trees.  I also had the heart popped up to give just a little dimension to the card.  I think it worked out pretty well; at least I like it!

Clean and Simple 2 Online Card Class Day 2

Tried a couple of new techniques when I made this one layer card--I masked before stamping, and then embossed the hearts.  It's not perfect, but I think it was a good first try!  Very pleased with this idea.

Clean and Simple 2 Online Card Class Day 1

On the first day of class we learned several new techniques.  This is my first attempt to make a card similar to one of their examples.  I embossed the sentiment in white, and bracketed it with cardstock I embossed.  I really like how the card front turned out.  It looks better in person.

But the inside I'm not sure I like.  I used Brilliance in Lightning Black.  I liked it a lot before it dried, but after it dried, was more of a dark gold instead of a black on the blue background. I was hoping for a shiny black with gold highlights.  Oh, well, live and learn!
